Feedback on some retro blood effects

Title says it all, made some blood effects and wanted to get some feedback on it.

I wanted them to be more retro, in line with 3D PC and PS1 style effects. To do this, I used an invisible part that has a particle emitter attached to it. I made a script where every second or so it goes through a function where a random integer of 5-7 parts are created and put into a table, with a random velocity attached to them. After 3 seconds they’re deleted, and the cycle repeats.

Here’s a video of it:

So far it looks pretty simple, mostly in line with Dusk’s blood effects, just simple cubes. If you have any neat ideas on how to make it look better or more interesting while still keeping the retro feel, I’d love your feedback! Thank you!

It looks great, maybe you could change the direction of the ParticleEmitters, other than that it looks great!

Thank you! But do you mind if I could ask what exactly you mean by changing the direction of the ParticleEmitters?

I mean they could for example make the particles go down instead of only up/to the side, maybe a bit down but not too much, and maybe you could make it so based on the part of the body being hit it’ll change the direction

(I saw the video again and I noticed there’s a bit of it but at a first glance I couldn’t see it)

Oh okay, I gotcha! I’ll definitely work to tweak that some more, thank you!

It looks very good! I think you should make the particles a bit smaller though, they look too big even for a retro-type of game.

Sure thing, I can definitely agree on that looking at that now, thanks!

@Dede_4242 @agentphilip07 Do you two think this is align with what you were thinking?
