Feedback on subspace (hyperspace) effect and gameplay

Hey there, I am currently working on a space game, in which you can freely fly around entire solar systems. I have been working on a thing called ‘Subspace’ which allows you to reach FTL speeds wihtout encoutnering floating point error. Here is a demo of it (1C = speed of light):

Does anyone have any suggestions or feedback on this?

As of now I am still figuring out the core sytems and functionality of the game, but once the basics are done I can certainly open a demo/pre alpha version of the game. I will update on this thread once I’ve opened one.

I’m VERY interested in this topic, since I’m making a space simulator like this myself.
I like the E:D inspiration c:

Wow, this is very cool and good! I’d like to play a fully finished game with this feature. Nice job on this!

So you have to first create a texture with random lines and blobs of white (I used Pixlr E), and you then blur all that.
Then you arrange a bunch of beams in a circle around the ship or camera, set the texture to the one you created, stretch it, set the color, do some more tweaks and then you have what I have.

Thank you, and yes the game is heavily inspired by Elite: Dangerous

I appreciate the kind words
As I meantioned above, I will release a pre-alpha/demo of the game soonish (think 3 - 7 weeks), but it will obviously not be as good as the finished product.
Development has been on and off somewhat, but Im hoping that the current burst of motivation I have will stay.

You should write megameters as Mm instead of mm, because mm is millimeters.

Writing the full word would take up too much space, however, I can capitalise the first M to show that it is not millimetres.
Do you think that is a good idea?
