Hello! I’m creating a test map for a game that will hopefully be created. It will function similar to XCOM which is why it has a grid.
Anyways I was hoping for tips on how to make it more visually appealing to look at. I have a realistic feeling in mind.
Hey there! Looking great so far, in order to further pursue visual appeal & realism towards your players, I’d suggest finding a 3D-Modeller or yourself to work with in order to produce you with meshes such as trees, rocks as well as the detail you wouldn’t usually find in the standard Roblox game.
You could also try taking terrain into consideration, realistic terrain is cool. Although, if you don’t want to use the terrain editor you could always use this interesting plugin by @Atrazine.
Going on a tangent here but uh, why not?
To go with that, sound design is cool too, try implementing a few sound systems maybe to go with a weather system if possible. Pretty much just go ahead & do stuff to add in that attention to detail, y’know?
I was thinking this map would be mostly to tryout game features such as movement and shooting and what not. But I do agree with what you said because it would kind of set standards and expectations for what there is to come.
