This build is apart of a game I’m making (posted here a few weeks ago) it’s supposed to be a destroyed/collapsed interchange set in a post-apocalyptic world. Anything I should add/remove/generally do better?
It looks incredible! It looks just like a normal city you would see in real life with all the buildings (e.g grocery stores, tire repair shops, fast food places) and you nailed it giving it the abandoned theme to it!
On a side note: I did encounter a lot of Z-fighting:
You should also add some sound effects because when I was playing the game, it seemed to be extremely quiet, maybe adding some car alarms or some atmospheric music that makes the game feel deserted and abandoned?
About the interchange, it looks like a big chunk of the interchange is missing but you only see a few tiny segments of the highway which don’t seem realistic because where did the rest of the highway go?
I would recommend adding more destroyed highway segments here that are a bit longer and make them look destroyed as if it’s missing parts and give it the rustic look if you already haven’t.
Also, for the cars you could look into adding some particles to them like smoke or fire to make it really look like it was totaled as some of the cars in the game look like they went through a car crash.
You should spread these buses out because I feel like they are too close together, maybe add a crashed bus on the ground with fire coming out of it and having the other two spread apart?
Other than that the whole thing looks incredible, great job with the build and I look forward to playing the game when it comes out!
I honestly thought I fixed the z-clashing already, either I did and didn’t save or I didn’t but I’ll fix it later today, thank you for pointing that out.
In terms of sound effects, I’ve added background music but no sound effects yet. I’ll be adding that later on in development.
I completely agree on the interchange seeming to miss a lot of the roads. I’ll put in more broken road pieces later today.
Thank you for the suggestion on the vehicles, I’ll be adding more vehicles later with particle effects later on in development.
