Feedback on this Mountain

Hey there!

This Is a mountain I made, there are many of these throughout the map, but this one to me seems the most appealing. In these Images, I have a bridge, some unique trees, and other details. I use the terrain editors “Add” tool to create the mountain. I also used some of the grow tool. There is a bridge above a kind-of frozen lake. This is a showcase currently, later on, this will be a full on game named “Snow Simulator,” Unfortunately, my business partner and I agreed not to tell anybody, in the case that they would steal the idea. This game should release on a Saturday, before Christmas. If not, then hopefully before new years! I have also made a poll below so I can get some info about this. Thank you!

  • The bridge has to little detail
  • The bridge has perfect detail!
  • The bridge has too much detail

  • The trees match the terrain
  • the trees don’t match the terrain

Idk but u can make trees with oul leaves too
Its hard to choose i think it depends on what the game will be so u can make the color and the trees bridge and stuff match with eachother

I would place pines as its a winter landscape and broad-leafed trees aren’t green in winter.

True… But how the story was gonna go, was that a massive blizzard hit the map without warning. But I can thank you for the help!

Hello. The mountain is quite nice.
About the bridge, I think you could add railing, but it fits with the map.

I think you need more variation for the trees. Right now it’s just all copy pasted and rotated, but you can build 4 shapes of trees (not just color variations) and spread them around evenly so that it looks more natural. It also kinda looks like the trees don’t belong on the snow, so I would maybe add some snow around the bottom of the tree trunk for snow areas. If your story is that a massive blizzard hit the map, then that means the snow wouldn’t only be directly on top of the tree, but also be scattered a bit on the bottom of the trunk.

Also, another nice addition would be adding snow particles in the air. That would bring the whole building together.

Thank you for the advice. I was planning for when I finish the map to add small snow particles coming down. Thank you very much for the advice!

You might want to smooth out the edges around each step on the mountain so it slopes more naturally. With the current terrain tools you would grow the terrain and then erode it if it grows to much. It will give you more natural realism.

One thing that could really improve this would be to add guard rails or something to hold onto on the bridge!
