Hello everyone, I recently opened Figma for the first time, and I’ve got words to say: IT IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE ROBLOX UI EDITOR. I read 2 posts on this forum which helped me a lot, but I wanted to make a cartoony UI so I looked at Pet Simulator X.
You could say this UI is…ripped off of PSX…and thats true, because I literally didnt change it up whatsoever (except some of the colors not being the exact same but very close to being the same)
So, my question is simple; What should I do to change it up but still have the same caroonish style?

I’d say remove the white outline from the crowns, it blends in with the bright yellow of the crown and overall makes it look off.

The difference in execution with your UI and the one with Pet Simulator X is that it’s (PSX) a lot more careful with the brightness of the colours. Also, the black (or brown) outline helps (literally) separate the white outline from the thing its surrounding.
An example of this would be the crown. Firstly, it uses a lot more Oranges and darker yellows, not to mention the outline that initially surrounds the image of the crown before the white outline is introduced. Meanwhile your icon uses one bright shade of yellow and that brown/black outline isn’t there, going to the equally bright white outline straight away.
I get that its different but I’m asking how should I change it to be original. I didn’t think a minor difference in color would effect the “originality”
I don’t think anything necessary needs to be done. The UI in Pet Simulator X is all things considered pretty basic and like the others in its sphere. If it works, it works, no need to make it flashy, different or “original” just for the sake of doing such.
Well I always thought a game (mostly simulators) would be criticized for having very alike UI. Well alright thank you I guess.
The reason they almost always look the same is that not much can really be done to modify them without it not ending up as a worse looking user interface. Its one of those one size fits all type UI’s. Maybe look at a mixture of cartoony styled games on and off the platform for inspiration.
This UI looks good, nice job on it! You should remove the white outline from the crowns and make it black so they are more visible and stand out.
