Feedback on UI and System - The Avatar Mall

Greetings DevForum! We have been working on this game titled “The Avatar Mall” for 4 months or so now, and would greatly appreciate feedback so far.

The game is designed to give clothing designers the opportunity to share their clothing for a cheap price. Customers are able to easily try on and buy items.

We are almost ready for release, excluding a few features such as music and a couple of the store items. However, we would like feedback! It would be appreciated if people could try out the game, report bugs or suggest features!
Please bare in mind that most of the clothing are placeholders. “GOTH” and “VINTAGE” are complete.

You can use code DevForum in “Store” for 1000 coins, to test out some of the store items.

It all feels very same-y. When I think of a mall I think of each independent store doing something completely different from the other. Design, colors, logo and name. Even the stores on the bottom felt the same. Looks like the same store with a different name on the front. Maybe change up the stores a bit.

The build is nice, but the UI could be improved.

All of the stores currently have customisation of colours, as well as 3 store types to choose from.
(Minimalistic, Fancy, Windowless). At the moment we are making default stores that will be placeholders when stores are free.

We do plan on adding some more customisation but at the moment we feel that colours are best for simplicity.

Thanks for the feedback. I think one of the main issues with the UI at the moment is scaling. Although I designed the UI I cannot do anything Roblox UI related to save my life.

Whilst I don’t believe you’re exactly asking for feedback on the pricing of renting out a store area, I think it’d be of no harm to share my suggestion.
I think it’d be best to give more days per option whilst keeping the same pricing. Cheap prices/more days of course equals more stores when the game first gets fully released, which in turn means more player engagement due to all the available stores.
I say this all as a potential user of this game who may rent out a store in it(granted there are enough players for it to be viable, of course), it’s just that I cannot imagine taking a gamble of paying 50 robux for a day.

The build is cool but I am not a fan of the UIs.

We are planning on discounting prices on release to build up engagement, and then looking at the figures in order to see what to do.
It’s been tricky trying to decide on an ideal price; I of course must make a profit, but also must use the money to advertise. We will study the sales per store on release and then make a decision on the cost, it may be that we change it to 50 robux for 3 days etc.
Thanks for the feedback!

How could the Ui be improved? Different theme or just a cleaner product?

Both. I tend to like most UI themes but that kind of cartoony look is not my thing, and also yeah just a cleaner look/product.

Alright, thanks for the feedback! The build is pretty cartoony, so I think i’ll stay with that, but if I have time before release I’ll revamp the UI.

I feel like it’s a bit weird there. don’t know how to explain sorry

Hmm, maybe the icon?? It’s meant to be a settings button.

I would make it so when you hover over a button, it says “Rent” or “Shop”, or whatever button you’re hovering over. I was confused at first what the shop, or where to rent a store.

Good idea! I did wonder if it would be confusing to people hiring out shops and wanting to buy in-game items. I’ll have a look to see what looks best.
Thanks!

Hey! Wondered if this was ok for the text.

Although I am yet to implement it, when a user hovers over a button the text on the right it displayed.
Feedback would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
