Feedback on Weather Module

I’m in the middle of creating my first Module. “Weather Mod”

The point of this module is to make realistic weather and easy for Scripters to implement.

Right now I’m testing the SummonLightningStorm() function and would like your feedback on anything you can think of related.

If you’d like to test it out, you can do so here: (Just remember to press the “Red Box”)

Thanks,

I think it looks good, but there is a thing i would change. The light created by the lightning is really bright. It makes the entire map white. Other than that, good work!

I think you should make it so when you click the button to start the storm, I think you should add like a GUI that appears where you can select what type of storm spawns. For example… The player would click the start a storm button A GUI will appear that will allow the player to spawn a tornado, or thunderstorm, or rain, or blizzard, or high winds, etc… .Instead of having a thunderstorm and rain storm spawn.

Other than that though… I think it’s pretty cool.

When doing research I found out the lightning flashes light at the moment of impact, but I do agree that it’s a bit much.

i like the sounds of the rain and how it actually has the effect where it hits the ground, but i just dont like the clouds very much. it looks pretty bad. also, the Click Me to Smite Yourself button makes the lighting stay the same after it hits, and it also shouldnt work during no storm.

Thank you for your feedback, I used a free Texture but ill change later. Also the Smite your self is a test for admin to smite hackers.

Oh, thats cool! You should probably make it undodgeable and make it auto kill so that it doesnt take forever for an admin to smite a user

the lightning has a really good effect to it and sound, the little detail on when you enter the building and the rain sound fades is also really good, you could try working on reflectance on when the rain hits the ground to make it look a lot more realistic

Thank you, but I’m going to let you know that the rain script is not entirely mine, I just modified and fixed some bugs of buildthomas’s script to fit the Needs of this Module.

I see, either way it’s still great work

You might want to consider putting the credits in the first post, by editing the the topic.

I Understand your concern for Cedditing, but this post was for recommendations or bug reports. I Have added the Credits in the Module scripts description.
