Feedback on WW2 Themed Fortress!

I have started a small project of making a WW2 themed fortress. I haven’t constructed most of the actual fortress, but I have a good start on the outside trenches and stuff. Right now I’d like feedback on what to work on and what to fix. I already know that I should work on the fortress before the outside of it, but I just got carried away when I made the trenches.

Here’s the outside of the fort

Here’s kinda inside the fort

Here’s the trenches

And here’s the bunker. The entrance is in the trenches.

I’d love to get feedback on what to do! :ok_hand:

It’s really good but instead of having barbed wire spread out make the Barbed wire just all together in a row

In terms of historical accuracy its not very good but I cant really give feedback unless I have an idea of the era this build takes place (1939 - 1945) and the location, for example was this built along the eastern front, by the Russians, or is it a french built fort in the west to defend from German aggression. I would just suggest to look at historical reference photos and other WW2 themed games.

DId you mean barbed wire?

Alright, I’ll change the barbed wire soon.

Yeah, I probably should’ve used references from a specific era. I’ll make sure to do that

(also it’s a german fort)

Wow! This brings back so much memories of old WW2 movies almost good job.

I’ve already read some of the replies above, and I’m not trying to be mean, but I study the WW2 era in depth, and can confirm this is not historically accurate in the slightest, especially if you’re going for a German Wehrmacht position.

Throughout the majority of the war, the Germans had very tough concrete fortifications which created hard, almost impenetrable lines of defense (I.E The Siegfried line)

If you really want my opinion on this, it would be wiping the slate clean and completely restarting. The only other option I suggest is making this more of a temporary fighting position in a town.

Non-Historically Accurate

bunkeer
This bunker has RPG rounds and more modern-day lockers. They also had electricity in most of the wooden-dugout type bunkers.
trench
I cannot see any trenches here, trenches always had structured sides for support, otherwise it would be a sloppy mess (AKA, add duckboards, etc.)

also forteres
They would have most likely just left the bridge broken, especially if in combat, once again, this photo does not really make sense as they wouldn’t have created structures like this specifically for fighting. The Germans normally had working plumbing in the majority of their structures, so the outhouse isn’t really needed

Small Suggestions:

  • Use meshes for the weapons, as they do not look like any kind of WW2 era weapons, especially not German as theirs were curvier.
  • Sandbags look like 2010 kind of style for Roblox sandbags, use meshes
  • There needs to be a LOT more trench lines, add dragon’s teeth, barbed wire, foxholes, etc.
  • If you want to go for a field type of look, get rid of the main build fully, and construct several smaller concrete pillboxes, anti-aircraft, and artillery positions, along with a command bunker.
  • Lots more decoration on the field, feels way too empty.
  • Add AT guns, or even tanks. Almost every fortification had some sort of anti-tank measure whether it be a panzerfaust or a Pak 43 75cm.

If you want more detail on this kind of stuff you can DM me here or on Discord (Bloximus#3177).

  1. i am pretty sure the battleground isn’t flat, using the grow tool to make the battleground a bit realistic.
  2. You don’t have to use part to build your guns, use mesh would be better.
  3. To make it more realistic, try to add some effects to your place like fire or explosion.

Hope this helps :+1:

You need add some details for the walls.

Good Job! I really like it!

Looks impressive and promising! :+1:
One thing I would add is some chipping to the walls. (To make them look like they’ve been barraged with bullets).

Finally someone with some sense.

Looks very good, maybe make it damaged, eg: broken brick walls, broken stuff.

Thanks for the advice!

I think I’m going to keep the work I already have as a side project because I enjoyed working on the less realistic fortress. I’ll make a new place and begin working on a new (and better) fort with your advice.
