Hello. I’m a GFX designer who’s been doing this for roughly 2 years now, and I would like some constructive criticism on my GFX.
I’m not a GFX artist, so I can’t really give good feedback on things like the layout and scene layout stuff, but I am decent with the technical stuff. I do think that you need to do more sampling in the renders. The first one has a lot of noise left in it, which can be fixed by doing more sampling per pixel.
Also, the color seems off. I would recommend changing the color grading to use a more modern system. I assume you are using Blender, and Blender, by default, uses VGA color grading. That worked perfectly fine when Blender was first started, but there are much better options. I would look into using ACES, which was developed by the same group that runs the Oscars. The benefits to using something like ACES is that you are less likely to get banding from gradients, like in the second image, and also it is much better for scenes with contrast, for example. I don’t have any resource to recommend, sadly, but I hope this helps somewhat!
What program are you using?
I do my renders in Blender 2.83, using Filmic color space, since Filmic was made to give realistic lighting to a scene.
if the lighting you have is an aesthetic then i dont really know what to say, but the HDR needs some work.
I use Blender 2.83 and Photoshop CC 2020. I’ve never heard of Filmic, so maybe I’ll check it out!
Its commonly used to create a real-like atmsophere to renders but it also helps in other situations.
It should be turned on default if youre using the 2.8 or newer versions of blender, atleast in eeve.
Hiya, I’m a GFX designer myself so I can try and give you some good tips.
- On the second render, I really like it but I would recommend dimming the lighting just a little bit
- Also for this, if you zoom in you can see weird streaks. I don’t know if thats intended.
Also marking your post as Solved will make people think that you are not looking for any more tips, unless I’m wrong and your really not.
Overall, I think you are ready to start doing commissions (selling) your work! Awesome job.
Thanks for the critiques! I’ll definitely use the advice you gave me. Also, on the first image, those “weird streaks” were intentional, lol.
Ah, alright!

This looks really good, how long did these GFX’s take you?
They’re excellent! I love the ‘static’ look of the first one, and the second one is just as phenomenal (particular love what you did what the depth of field, and keeping the subject in focus).
In my opinion however, the second one is slightly over-exposed and the whites are too intense, such to the point where the whipped cream and the bunny blend in with the light. Perhaps you could tone it down slightly?
