Make different backgrounds we can choose from so we can see how our character looks like in different conditions.

Looks kind of plain, colours would make it look really nice and maybe instead of just ‘Shirt’ and ‘Pants’, you can add like hats, hair, front, back, etc.

I would suggest moving the character a little higher and making the camera closer.

depending on the theme of the game, having a black and white ui could make more sense than a colored one. I prefer black and white iver colors personally.

The GUI looks great! I’m not experienced with GUI making and stuff like that, just an artist, but it’s way better than what I could do so you’ve done a great job!

Make the stool more taller so it’s more directed to the camera, it removes attention off the viewer and makes them direct their focus past them (which is the background).

Add more detail to the stool, it looks a little bland, but no worries! You can make it similar to the theme of the background, like the player can probably stand on a big rock! If that’s not your desire though, you can just change the texture of it.

The GUI’s are the basic ones, you can spice it up a bit by adding fonts or changing the background! Maybe add a black transparent box behind them to add those selections in.
I’m pretty impressed though, great job!
