Reproduction Steps
I’m on Windows 10
- Open up a project
- On the project window, do File > New
- The new baseplate file is created in a new window, but the old window with your project freezes with a window saying “Loading place: Baseplate”. This window is permanent, and you have to force end the program.
This started happening recently.
I can recreate this issue 100% of the time. It does not matter what the original project file is, it is even occurring for me with an empty baseplate.
Expected Behavior
I expect the old behavior. Opening a new baseplate should not crash the window you opened it from.
If there’s a way to create a temporary place that I can use to test/setup stuff rather than having it create a new place on my roblox account, let me know. I’ve always used File > New, so I probably need to stop using it for temporary places.
Actual Behavior
The most annoying part about this bug is if you press “Cancel” on the window above, this happens:
If you try to wait it out, this happens (I got to attempt #15 before I forcibly ended studio):
The only way out of this is by forcibly ending the Roblox Studio window.
Workaround
I just have to be careful to not use File > New and open up a previous baseplate instead.
