very bland and the green is too bright
deforestation be like:
oh yeah forgot to add that I didn’t add decorations yet : P
As a natural formation, it looks sufficiently natural shape, but it is lacking in the material department (this could be a problem with distance, but yes, it’s too neon). Add sand and grass, of course, but also add rocks and dirt.
None of this addressed filling it with stuff, which I assume you haven’t done.
The island is too low-poly, players will likely think that the island is not high quality.
I gather you can possibly fix this by adding a SpecialMesh
with a spherical shape?
The whole point of the island is to be low poly lol
The edges though. It looks as sharp as a knife! At least make SmoothingAngle
higher! That sand will cut me in half!
I would like to smooth it, but I still want the low poly-ness, what would I do here?
Not use the sand and add some sort of a sphere mesh? I’m not quite sure. I would use terrain water to cover it up as not many people will notice it that way.
Wait how do I use smoothing angle? (Btw, the important part is that its still supposed to be low poly, so i cant just use something that is very detailed (like terrain water), or a sphereical mesh (which I dont even know how I would make look like a island lol))
You can get a low-poly spherical mesh.
Yes but how would I make it into an island? and IF I do, wouldn’t it still have sharp egdes? (Since in a non-low poly enviroment that would just be a sharp turn)
Well, that’s true but I was thinking putting a sand part that will balance out the low-poly stuff with something just like a Baseplate to go underneath, covering up the sharp edges, clipping through it.
That should work!
What if I add more layers of water so it would be harder and harder to see the deep it goes?
I would first suggest adding a sand brick underneath it clipping through the bottom of the sand.
If it’s still visible, yes, sure, I can see that. That’s quite an old design though, and it’s not even used for water anymore. It’s now used for holes.
Not exactly. This looks like a blob underneath the sand. I was talking about a block underneath the sand. Well, the block would be clipping under the sand.
But this design would look possibly appealing if it wasn’t for that blob at the bottom.
Oh yea ignore the big blob below the ocean you wouldn’t see that in the final game (Its part of the mesh, I have it go that deep because I didn’t want the mesh to be floating and having to move it wayyyyy down)
