The “Find in files” feature in Roblox Studio stops to work several times per week at random. When it stops working you get no results no matter what you search for.
Steps to reproduce:
- Hit CTRL+Shift+F to open find in files
- Search for something that exists in scripts such as “local”
Expected results: The results should be presented in the Find Results Window
Actual results: The Find Results Window is blank, not even the “Matching lines: X, Matching Scripts X” line is printed.
Work around: Restart Roblox Studio (only reopening the game does not help)
Roblox studio version: 0.428.1 (this problem has existed for at least 6 months)
Edit: Found another detail when I was going to record a gif of it, seems to work if I click on the button “Find all” rather then pressing Enter. After clicking on the “Find all” button with the mouse I can search using enter for some reason.
Edit 2: Can it be some kind of indexing problem? That the search index is not available, since it did not work, I wrote the post and then it worked when I tested again a while later.
