Mmm. The game is kinda dry. Please try to put more effort into making maps. Try cartoony style or low poly if you want to keep it easy, and add some User Interfaces.
Why not studs or just maps made with studs?
Blender is hard and Idk how I’m going to make a cartoony styled obby
You could, but it would look really bland.
Plus, if you don’t know how to use Blender, there’s a beautiful tool everyone has access to, called Internet.
The thing about blender is it doesn’t really motivate me, I dont even have my mouse it so I would basically break my fingers, Blender seems very complicated and one YouTube tutorial or more isn’t going to help, I wanted this game to have some classic type feeling but now people are shoving my own ideas down the trash and then wanting me to make it more realistic
Im fine with suggestions, but I wont always be open to let every one in.
As a Developer I want to take everyone’s ideas and try to make them possible for a game im making, the issue is I want myself to be happy to
umm why is this game private ?
Im going to start working on it again, a lot of people want it to me more of an obby an make it less more effort, Im working on it right now.
Blender isn’t actually that hard once you get the hang of things. For low-poly, it’s much easier and far more versatile than using unions in Studio (and there’s loads more you can do with it - not just modelling)!
also i cant really tell you my opinion on your game because the it’s private
Idea itself is pretty cool and unique, but game is really raw at this point. Hats are in obvious spots.
Here’s some ideas:
- Add a button with timer
- Double jump ability on certain maps
So double jump and Rolling so far
Also as I said, I was going for a more classic roblox look
Try to hide hats in somewhere, maybe inside a car?
Does that mean I can hide a hammer or something so that the player can break the car and then touch the hat and advance to the next level?
I highly recommend completing or working on games for more than a week prior to posting in #help-and-feedback:cool-creations, for better responses. Trust me on this one.
Hi, even though I couldn’t test your game anymore, I am just going to give my opinion on the list you’ve said
But before any of that, I just want to clarify that I wish this to remain as a friendly & peaceful chat, none of what I am going to say is trying to offend anyone or discriminate against anyone reading it, I am just stating my personal views and opinions, that is all, thank you.
"What Im going to add:
In-Game Currency
Shop
Mechanics
Particles
Hat Proximity PromptWhat I’m not going to add:
Stage Skips - I want players to be able to speed run this.
Realistic/“Better” Looking Obby Levels - I Want this to look like a classic Roblox Game, that’s why I had studs."
I agree with all the stuff you are going to add, but TBH I am surprised mechanics were not already in there
Anyways, I am more concerned about the stuff you are not going to add.
Your reasoning for stage skips is weird, it can be like a level selection UI or there could be other ways to access it (Where speedrunners can’t use it), and even if you make it in a clear spot, how can they fake the run, it will be very clear to see their cursor moving to the "Skip’ button, and somehow magically get access to the next level. I am not saying you shouldn’t add it, but your reasoning doesn’t really make sense unless you don’t plan on scripting just a bit more.
I agree with the second one though, since you’ve already chosen a style, just stick with it, unless you are doing another series of levels with another style, else, if different mix-and-match styles are together in the same level pack, it would indeed look unorganized and messy.
Furthermore, I think most people say they are “offended” by you not because they mean you are a sicko, you just seem a bit aggressive for a person who is asking for feedback and opinions from the fanbase.
Thanks for the reply, but if you didn’t already notice, this was all one year ago, so now my post got bumped…
Best to just send me a PM since this is old and its not helping new topics that have zero replies.
