Finished my Low-Poly type house, opinions?

The bottom window is a bit too wide in my opinion. image

edit:
The length is a bit too long not width. I messed up the difference.

@PotatoStrawberry124
It’s not too long, just extend it upwards or downwards.

Ok everyone I’ve taken most of your suggestions into consideration and edited the house.

Looks decent! You should really checkout F3X, might help you out!

Alright, I’ll check out F3X and see if it helps me while building. Although right now I’m going to go, bye yall. Thanks for the help!

This is great for starters, good job.

I think making the colors match would make it look nicer as well as making patrick a little less flat.

The house definitely needs improvement so ill help you out

Here’s a step by step on how I would’ve built this, and you can go ahead and try it for yours

Everything that pokes out of the building should be only poking out by .2 This includes windows and doors. Do about 2 studs for the chimney

  1. Get an NPC from the toolbox

  2. Insert a brick about 20 studs tall, and 10 studs wide and long. (Do about 10 studs tall per floor)

  3. Anchor the brick

  4. Select the giant brick

  5. Click your resize tool

  6. Resize down a door into one side, and make it only about 1-2 studs taller than the npc you inserted. Make it about 6 studs wide aswell. Poke out the door only .2 studs out

  7. If you want to add detail to the door, add a frame to it that’s about 1 stud wider on each side of the door

  8. For the Windows, make sure they look similar to how the would irl. If they look too long, resize them. down a bit.

  9. Use the npc to see how the windows look.

  10. For the roof, use 2 triangles instead of just one.

This is just a super simple tutorial. If you’ve got any questions, feel free to ask me

It’s alright. It’s very block even for a low poly build. Take the yellow lines on the road. In real life, they don’t come off the road as they are only painted on. Consider maybe making them flat or better yet on the same axis as the road itself. The chimney might be able to use a wedge or two to make it more fluid too.

Right around there would make it look a little less dramatic in my opinion. Aside from that, it’s pretty okay for a first build!

Ok, thanks for the suggestion!

This is a nice low-poly design, but the problem is, there’s a limit to what you can make a build look like and call it “low-poly”. For starters, the window frames still seem to be a bit off, I don’t know if it’s just me, but I would scale them into proportion with the rest of the house - and with each other.

The car itself has windows that are sticking out of it… try moving the windows in using a few negative parts. I would maybe even add a border to the plants in the front of the house.

On one side of the house, there is a white door with no stair leading up to it, which kind of seems like it’s just “hovering”.

Some low-poly designs have those bricks placed a little bit around the building, you might want to consider using that.

Also, consider what @NicholasMcK said about the road.

Also, there’s just something not visually appealing with the way the colors are displayed, try changes that.

If the windows aren’t already neon, make them a light color of neon, that really stands out in low-poly builds.

Edit: I would also fix the windows, they are sticking out too far.

The colors don’t really go well and the windows and door stick out to much. I suggest trying to replicate some low poly houses found on the web.

Much better than the original house however the little part sticking out of the chimney can be removed or moved so its centered.

This updated house looks better than the original, however I still think that the colors could be better. I suggest using paletton.com for color palletes to help with this. Also, I think the proportions of the house seem odd. The windows seem abnormally large and throw me off. Also, I suggest adding smoke to the chimney, it would make it look a bit cooler, and you could even make custom cartoony smoke particles for that.
