First Attempt at Volumetric Lighting in Blender

Hey! It’s me, Void_Xiety again!

I’m here with yet again, another GFX I’ve created using the Latest Version of Blender. I wanted to attempt Volumetric Lighting with Eevee, but it was having issues. I switched it onto cycles not realizing the nodes were still set in the Shader Editor, and it turned out like this. I’m very proud of it for my first ever go, I just want to know what settings I can change

Also, I’m aware that this Image was rendered in Thumbnail size, with a low cycle count, and that’s why it looks rather fuzzy, as well as blurry. I will re-render tomorrow with a fix!

:camera: Render:

Details:

Size: 1920 x 1080 (needs to be bigger ik)
Cycle Count: 500 (needs to be higher ik)
Denoising: ON
Engine: Cycles

*Forgot to include… If I do some fixing up and more practice, do you think I should open a Developer Forum portfolio?

Should I open a Developer Forum Portfolio?
  • Yes, some fixes and it’ll do good
  • No, needs a lot more work.

Im just not sure what you mean when you say.

Blender has 3 primary Render Engines. Eevee, Cycles, Workshop. Eevee being heavily used for Volumetric Lighting, and Cycles for more realistic renders that would come straight out of a camera. Somehow I pulled this lighting off with Cycles, when it’s meant for Eevee. If you do some searches for it, you’ll better understand. Thanks!

There actually is a watermark! I guess it is a little too camoflaged to the point its hard to see. It’s over some of the volumetric lighting to the point it’s almost impossible to go over and remove without ruining the entire thing. Besides I got the entire blender file.

Thank you, and goodnight!

I can see it clearly, though. Pretty cool!

For me it’s hard to really give any feedback without it being in a place that makes sense. Such as in a city or something. But it looks amazing

Thank you guys/gals/others! Also one thing to note, if you vote for I need more practice, please tell me what I can do to improve it, so I can learn to better perfect this type of lighting.
