It would add some texture to the weapon, play a little with the effects, and I find it very bright. But its good for that its your first GFX. Good job.

Add some rocks and pebbles on the ground for more effect and adjust the arm holding a bit.
After that you are good to go!

This is really good for a first! Here is a bit of feedback to help you improve…
The arm looks stretched, and it doesn’t look clean.
The position is stiff, maybe add some adjustments to the legs, so it looks a bit smoother.
The floor is a bit bland, maybe add some extra rocks ect.
