I’ve been using blender for about a year and I decided to learn GFX. Here are the first 2 I made. Took about 45 minutes each. Please give general feedback on what and how I can improve things in them or just general tips.
The shadows and the colors of it don’t match at all. I think you should change it.
This is very strange, The poses are unrealistic and the weapon welding is off. the shadows are weird and the weird gas/fog doesn’t do it any favor.
4/10 Would return if there are major improvement.
The posing and lighting is kinda weird, but else, I think it looks pretty cool!
The fog or mist looks fine in the second design the last image though creates a heavy fog look you could perhaps experiment with it or decrease the amount placed.
I find the fog effect could be switched with a different effect you could always just experiment instill you find something you like, perhaps have each design feature their own poses so it doesn’t have a repetitive look I would try fixing the first characters leg as it seems to be a little off.
The way the characters are holding the weapon looks like it could possibly be improved the different lighting on each side I would try making the parts that are casting on certain parts of the props match the surface lighting. Overall, It’s a first approach continue to learn how to add additional details in the background or brainstorm ideas on ways to improve it.
Wow, I’m really impressed, I think these look really cool! I suggest that you look at reference photos for posing, as that will help you make realistic posing! I think the lighting looks really cool on them, but I’m not sure about the fog on the second one, it looks a bit strange. In the future I reckon you could try use a 3D background, as they can take your GFXs to the next level!
I can’t wait to see more of your GFXs! Keep up the great work💗
Woah cool lighting i like it keep it up
Thank you everyone for the feedback! Could any of you me a bit more specific on what exactly is wrong with the pose like the left leg is curved off too much for example. And also for the lighting, what could I do to make it better? Where should I put them, how should I change the strength, etc?
If you want the posing to be better just make the left arm going next to the mag while the right arm goes around the stock. the legs should be leaning to the right instead of bending there.
i fell the shadow the colores dont match at all
Like it, but fix his pose, it looks like an anime with that leg. Also, the color green doesn’t really match try some military colors (Your best try was the second to last it was pretty good) and again PLEASE FIX THE LEG or at least make it look like walking and not anime. Also the weapon position is very unnatural.
The green was supposed to be a poison looking fog but I guess that didn’t work out very well, lmao.
This is pretty good for starters, but I feel like you could definitely improve on your rigging. If you think about the human legs, you can’t bend them to the right or left, or it’d look like you’ve broken a bone with the rigging you’ve done. However, this is your First GFX, so it’s a learning experience. This still looks (edit) way better from when I first started.
The overall gist of what you should improve on goes like this:
First GFX:
Rigging
Try to be more natural with the way people hold objects, or the way the human body bends. If it’s not possible in real life, chances are it’s going to look unnatural, and weird.
Lighting
The lighting I feel could use a little work, but there isn’t much you can do with lighting. It showcases the character, and I’m going to assume that was your goal. It goes really well, and it’s just standard lighting. However, If you’re not already, use Cycles, and use HDRI’s. HDRI’s are really helpful when it comes to simulating realistic lighting. I’ve used HDRI’s before, and I have to say, it makes your work look so much better. Below is an example of this:
(The image above was kinda just messing around and doesn’t look to clean. Merely just to showcase what HDRIs can do. The background is an Environment Texture that will cast the lighting from it, onto whatever object you have in blender. In this case, a ROBLOX character.)
Second GFX:
Pretty much all the same stuff for the first one, but try to go easy on the fog looking effect. I’m not much of a Art (drawing, painting, etc…) designer, but try to find a way to make it overlay instead of looking like it was spray painted across.
Good job for your first ever attempt!

Thanks for the long response of feedback. Much appreciated! I think the only reason it might be better than other starters is because I’ve been 3D modeling for about a year and know my way around blender. I definitely have a lot to improve on. Thanks!
No problem! Got tons of potential right there! Keep it up!
Feedback
-Posts can be better
-Way their holding the guns
-Lighting use an HDRI not an light
-Where is the color mist coming from
There is a lot of more stuff but keep going look at other GFX and see how they do their and
looking on youtube for some tips how I become good at GFX it takes time keep messing around with stuff in blender but good job for it being your first ever GFX it is better then my first.
Added two more renders to the bottom.
The 2 new ones are LOTS better. Keep up the great work!
