I am trying to make a first-person sword animation for a two-handed sword.
I can’t get it to look right. I want the player’s hands to remain at the same position on the sword for the duration of the animation. I tried welding the player’s hands to the sword but that did not work.
I’m little confused about what you are talking about.
If you trying to make an animation that uses both arms at the same time then you have to animate both arms and not just one arm only.
If the sword doesn’t move with the animation or the animation won’t play and stays in the same spot, then you probably have the sword anchored. Set the anchored to false on the sword.
If the sword doesn’t stay attached to the dummy while the animation is playing, then you don’t have it welded to the dummy properly.
I am basically just wondering how to make a good looking sword swing animation. I can’t seem to get it to look right. I made one for one-handed swords but I cant seem to get the two-handed animation to look right. I was wondering if anyone who has more experience animating has any tips.
Thx, Now I understand on what you are trying to do. when you are in the animation editor. you can click on the model tab in the studio bar and change the rotation number to how many degrees to want to rotate the body parts. It’s best if you put .25 in the bar. the lower the number is the more rotating you make and the higher the number is the less rotating you make. Also you can click on the move button to move the parts so the parts will line up better.
After you set the rotate number. You should be able to count how many times that you rotate a part on an arm or a leg and be able to do the same thing to the other arm or leg by using the number of rotates that you done earlier on the previous arm or leg. I know there might be a lot of videos on youtube showing you how to animate but so far I havn’t found one for you that explains all about the new updated functions that roblox made to the animation editor.
Not sure if this is what you’re trying to get but, you’re trying to attach the sword to the hand? Try using a Motor6D on the sword, then use a plugin or a script to position the sword to your liking then you should be able to animate the arm and the sword.
You can use Moon Animator, position your sword to where you want it to be placed by default then go to Easy Weld → Parts then click the Sword handle and the Arm then click Join in Place.
