Decided to try using Bosca Ceoil and conjure up a random music. Was my first time actually attempting to do so, I don’t know music theory though/anything about music . Any feedback on how I could improve or change?
Music is also meant to be on loop.
EDIT: Changed some things/extended music and lessened the beep.
The high frequency tones mixed with the beeps are quite damaging to my ears however if you kept some of the tone and fixed some of the mismatched notes you could get a good song
Sounds like a mishmash of distorted sounds, honestly. If you’re going for a desert vibe, I’d reference desert-y themes from other games as an example to try to go for.
The sounds in the song feel random. Not being able to easily predict the next sound to the song to me makes it not wanting a lot to listen to. Don’t have much advise other than trying to make the song tell some sort of story or making it more predictable.
The instruments and drums are my personal favorite, since you used two of the same instruments to make it more smooth at the end if I’m not mistaken you used a pad or synth I rarely touch those when I’m creating music, however yours really reminds me of one that was created in a game I can’t seem to think of it.
However regarding the (beep) in the music I feel like that is trying to take over the entire feel. I’d like it to be a bit turned down in general especially when it pops up it sounds louder at the beginning but at the end it kind of has a low tone since all the instruments are playing all together at the end.
It’d be nice to have the sound fade out so it doesn’t just end with the kick:
I think you should have one of the instruments such as the (beep sound) tune down a bit or maybe have it match with the instruments so one part of an instrument doesn’t have a louder appearance as others. At the start amazing job!
Decided to change some things based on your guys suggestions, new opinions on the updated version? I decided to try changing the instruments a little to fit the desert theme as well.
Can’t give my true opinion of this because I’m quite tired because it’s late in my area so I don’t know what I truly think of it.
The updated version just seems very boring and not interesting. I wouldn’t suggest putting it in a game because to be honest, people would probably be annoyed at it after it repeats at least 20 times.
The other thing about it is that the melody is very short. There isn’t much sounds to it so it makes it very dull.
You could try making the melody longer and have more variations.
That’s my overall opinion about it. By the way, I’m impressed by
the work! Keep it up!
I recommend using a sitar as a main instrument and maybe some kalimbas in the background to make a good desert vibe. These are just too instruments. It’s nice but too simple.
