Hi fellow developers, Im looking to get a suitable lighting similar to criminality but im stuck at my plain old lighting and dont know how to achieve it.Please understand that im a programmer and not a lighting expert.

What do you want to achieve? I want to have a dark midnight-style lighting for my game similar to criminality
-
What is the issue? The lighting looks kinda plain and skybox doesnt match well too
-
What solutions have you tried so far? I tried color corrections, different skyboxes and adjusting the lighting as well but it doesnt seem to work well.

Hmmm I’m not too sure but will adding fog work? if so how thick should it be
maybe, as thick as you want! but the game you are referencing doesn’t have much fog so maybe not
What lighting engine are you using?
Hmm I see.Im sorry what do you mean by lighting engine? I’m just using the normal Roblox lighting
(sorry for the late reply)
In the lighting settings, you can choose from one of these options. They change the way your game handles lighting and such. I’m not 100% sure about the differences but you can mess around and find out.

Try these settings:
→ Lighting
- Ambient 0
- Brightness 3
- E_DiffuseScale 0.2 (keep it low)
- E_SpecularScale 1
↳ Color Correction
- Brightness 0
- Contrast 0
- Saturation -0.5
- Tint 255, 255, 255
You can of course change these settings to your liking, hope this helps

Oh alright I’ll try it… It’s currently at shadowmap tho if I change it to future it might be laggy to players with low end devices.
Thanks I’ll try it when I get home. The skybox won’t affect it right?
Unless you change the skybox ID, it will stay the same
