Flat meshes getting distorted upon import

So I’m working on my game, as usual. And after making some railway tracks I decided to import one of my HD trains (As .fbx) for testing before i got back to Blender and GIMP to start texturing it.

However once it finishes importing, I notice the windows and the window frames of the locomotive are stretched out and distorted in a way. And I dont know why

(The windows on the sides of the cab are the problem)

This isn’t the first time this has happened to me and its mostly with flat objects that are supposed to be windows. And its REALLY annoying me.

So whats happening exactly? Is there a fix to this problem?

This isn’t a known problem afaik, so I would check if it’s how you’re exporting it. Check if it shows up like that in other programs.

Make sure you’re freezing your transforms before exporting.

What does that mean and how do I do that?

So whenever you edit a mesh in a program like blender or maya, its transformation “history” is stored.
So it has meta data of different things like vertex position, mesh scale etc. Which is still inside the data.

Clearing this data COULD solve your problem (no guarantees, could be many things)

I use maya, so not sure how to do it in blender. Try googling it. Hope it works
