Double Jumps, Beast Buffs, and Bug Fixes.

MrWindy here. This was supposed to be a quick bug fix update before the 6th anniversary update, but it snow balled into something bigger. I found out about some movement exploits players were using without hacking. So I wanted to remove them. But after community feedback, some players really enjoyed some of those exploits as advanced movements. That is why I decided to “make a bug a feature” and add in a double jump to replace the previous high jump glitches. This update also comes with big balance changes and long time bugs getting fixed. Properly testing and getting feedback was important to me before releasing this update. That is why it took a bit longer than expected. Sorry for the delay. I’ll be working hard on the 6th anniversary update after I return from RDC23. I’ll give more details on that update/release at a later date.

NEW FEATURES

  • Double Jump. Both survivors and the beast have this ability.
    -Press jump again in the air to perform a double jump.
    -It has a 3 second cooldown.
    -A shine will appear on the survivor’s back gem or the beast’s hammer hand to show you can double jump again.
    -You can not double jump while crawling.
  • Added in PolicyService api to block the trading post if your account is not allowed to trade paid items. For example: Because I did not have this api enabled, FTF was blocked from Korea due to local laws. Now Korean players can play again, just without the trading post. I’ll be making changes like this in the future to make sure FTF is playable worldwide.
  • When crawling, the game now checks if anything is above you before you can stand up.

CHANGES

  • Beast now opens doors faster. From 1.5 seconds to 1 second.
  • Lowered beast’s jump slow down time. From 1 second to 0.8 seconds.
  • Beast only slows down after landing from a jump.
  • Beast power can only be activated when on the ground.
  • You can not jump immediately while transitioning between crawling and standing. This was added to stop high jump glitches.
  • Only the player’s torso has collision enabled. This was changed to stop speed/jump exploits that shifted the player’s center of mass.
  • Loosen the anti-cheat on speed between computers.
  • Removed no-clip anti-cheat while I work on a better one.
  • Updated lobby whiteboard to include double jump and beast rope.
  • Enabled Adaptive Time Stepping. This is a new roblox feature that smooths out physics.
  • Changed season to summer… after a long winter.

BUG FIXES

  • Fixed high speed slippery crawl bug.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the beast to not get capture points after exit doors are unlocked.
  • Fixed a bug where sometimes the survivor would stop moving for a few seconds after being rescued from freezing.
  • Added in code that stops more than 5 players from joining a server at once.
  • Fixed strange beast hammer jumps on some hammers.

MAP CHANGES

  • Removed the Backrooms map. It may come back in the future.
  • All Maps: All vents now have a collision block that stops the beast from entering with glitches.
  • Facility_0: Added back in window mechanics from around 2018.
  • Homestead: The bush below the barn window is taller to easily jump into.
  • Homestead: Added extra barriers to the garage.
  • Homestead: Raised all pc barrier box sizes.
  • Forgotten Facility: Fixed missing textures on desk avatars.
