Hello! It’s been a few days an idea has been in my head, though in terms of execution I’m not that great at it. I’m mostly a scripter/programmer and sometimes I do models.
Its a fnaf game based on one of my biggest phobias (fears):
the fear of the unknown
I’ve drew some concepts and got some feedback from a friend
The player being at one side at the time, and can put his cursor on the sides of his screen in order to turn ninty (90°) degrees. No WASD/Movement and you roam within a room. Clicking to interact. (Point to click)
Which means that you can only be focused on one side at the time (front, back, left, right) and must react to sound or other signs from your computer.
Front side: Computer that allows you to do tasks on a table and time
Back side: A locker/closet to hide
Left+Right side: Entrances with no doors that monsters can enter easily, meaning that the only way to defend yourself is preventing them from coming or hide in the closet/locker, clicking on these doors either let you see out of your office or way blocked
This game build upon suspense and pressure as you can prevent what goes on but you hold responsability on so.
Of course, the goal is to survive until 6 AM with spicy challenges through out the night such as:
- Tasks; though I haven’t thought of objectives
- Power restoration (your computer, which is your only way a part from sounds to know what is going on is dependant from that power)
- Distracting or using ways to distract animatronics in order to avoid getting multiple animatronics attacking
- Random events forcing the player to repair something quick or do something quick that may be a life threat
Animatronics may have an unique ability that requires other ways than just hiding. This could be a nice idea for an animatronic like Freddy.
The game relies on the fear of the unknown, because you can only see one thing at a time in a point and click style.
Now a plot twist that a friend recommended me was to make a multiplayer game about it (though I had the plans of making it singleplayer first) where players cooperate to complete tasks faster on other offices though I haven’t found a complete design in order to think on how to execute.
AGAIN, I am just a regular programmer and the best I can is just make a playable proof of concept with placeholder assets. I can’t animate properly, make big models or rig, game design, build or level design.
Though I am interested to any proposition (Coloride#8384) and I am really interested by your ideas and suggestions.

For now, I feel like not starting to work on the game until I am comfortable with a stable game design idea.
