Yes because some people haven’t updated studio yet. Which means this has not affected them yet.

my friend had this issue a month prior, so I don’t think that’s it but it could be.
Then it might be rapid updates of someone trying to fix it.

also encountering this issue and have been for a few months now, at first it was only in the dropdown settings menu in the search bar https://i.imgur.com/NOE3fpK.png
but now it’s spread to the entire StarterPage since the latest update

Thank you for the bug report. We have identified the feature flag causing the start page to remain open when opening Studio through the website and disabled it. No new users should see this bug now.
Some users might see the start page open in new studio sessions still, because we persist what’s open between sessions. You should be able to hide the start page by unchecking this item in the ribbon’s right click menu. After hiding the start page from this menu, it should not pop up again.
For users in the new ribbon beta, you can also access this menu by right clicking on the header of any dock widget like this:

I tried reinstalling 4 times, restarting my PC over and over, checked my firewall settings, deleting all the roblox folders on my PC, checking and resetting studio settings at least twice, enabling(and disabling) the new beta studio gui options, I troubleshooted every combination of keywords I could think of over and over for the past couple hours until I finally got here. I was about to factory reset my PC and lose a bunch of stuff.
You just showed me hope again, thank you, and sorry that this is also happening to you. Hope this is fixed soon, but I’m relieved at least that it isn’t a corruption issue on my end.
