Changable weather

Different weather has been added in the following game modes:

  • Ranked (Default)
  • Unranked
  • Private servers

Wet weather in Time Trials will be added at a later time.

In public lobbies, weather is static, which means that the weather will not change during the race. When it is raining, the track will become wet. How much it rains and how wet the track is, is described by two percentages. One for rain intensity and one for track wetness. The track wetness determines how much grip there is. If the track wetness is higher than the rain intensity, then the track wetness decreases. In private servers the weather can be set to “Dynamic”, which will create a random set of weather conditions. Here, the weather conditions can change during a session.

There are six the weather types:

  • Dry
  • Light Clouds
  • Overcast
  • Light Rain (35% track wetness, 35% rain)
  • Heavy Rain (80% track wetness, 80% rain)
  • Dynamic (private server only)

Each type has a certain chance of appearing, depending on the track. This is loosely based on real life climates of the regions the tracks are supposed to be located in. For example, Rio Street Circuit has a higher chance of rain than Khilimah.

Of course, to help the cars navigate through wet weather contitions, Intermediate and Wet weather tyres have been added. The tyre selector UI has been updated to fix in the new compounds and to keep the UI functional on smaller devices.

The racing line has also been updated. Braking zones dynamically update when the track is wet. It is however worth noting that braking zones may appear early. The racing line will be improved in the future.

Lootboxes

In order to ensure the game applies with gambling laws around the world, the box opener may be restricted for some players. This depends on the gambling laws of their region.

Also, the prices for the boxes have been lowered so they make more sense in comparison to the new shop type (see below).

These are the new box prices:

Rotating Shop

To offer a replacement for the box opener, a new shop has been added. This new shop has daily items. At UTC midnight, the shop will refresh where new items will become available. Liveries and helmets can be bought from the rotating shop, while once in a while a legendary can be bought from this shop. There is a 10% chance every day that a legendary car will be available in the shop.

Here are the prices for the different item rarities:

Bug fixes

  • Bug where camera got stuck in cockpit mode has been looked into and a new fix is included in this update.

Coming in the near future

  • Fix for the double SR drop glitch;
  • The “porposing” glitch that appeared recently will be monitored;
  • Better racing line for wet weather conditions;
  • Wet weather in Time Trial;
  • Remodelled cars.
