Hey, yes this was an intentional change, so we could test if anyone had a use case that would be broken if we removed trust level 2 usage entirely. Didn’t want to comment on it before to avoid influencing the discussion.
We want to streamline everything to just be visitor or member. Trust level 2 (“regular”) has been stale for a few years now with no permissions or privileges attached.
This seems to have been the only thread posted about this issue, and there are no use cases or problems brought up related to knowing the difference between trust level 1 and 2 as expected. So we’ve moved all trust level 2 users to just be trust level 1 users now.
There is no impact to users outside of the text on the label on the profiles. No permissions or access or privileges are changing. You’re now either a visitor or a member of the forum. Visitor profiles will not be accessible, and member profiles only show up once they have made some posts.
The label has been reinstated for now but all profiles should just say “Member” (outside of for some staff member accounts where it might say e.g. “Leader”).
Thanks for posting this topic and hope this makes sense.
