You can find the demo here: Fox Forest - Roblox (the programmers won’t be working on the game until next month, so everything here is made by me for a concept - also, don’t mind the fox wearing a party hat, I was testing welding to bones XD)
The game will feature new technologies such as mesh deformation, custom materials, etc.
I’m wondering, what do you guys think of it so far? Do you have any feedback, or any ideas for different gameplay elements? I’d like a core gameplay loop that’s not as grindy as Felandia, but is fairly easy to create, and one that players would enjoy.
I should also mention that character customization will be a main feature in this game. You will be able collect and mix/match body additions, accessories, eye styles, etc… Instead of markings, however, this game will feature a Skin system (some foxes will have different muzzle shapes, ear styles, tail styles, etc., so I figure it’s easier to implement something like this into a Skin system).
The game is so far very well made, the meshes and animations are very well constructed. I’m excited to see the future of this game. As for features, I would highly suggest PvP, and hunting. That’s it! Wish you all the best on your game’s endeavors.
I have spotted a wild furry…
Overall 9/10 (nothing can be perfect)
Also not creative enough.
Try to be more creative instead of just making a game that uses a popular topic.
I think your models are wonderful! You gone down to the last details with facial rigging and foliage animating with the wind. I commend your skills with taking on so many new challenges roblox developers haven’t tested out a whole lot. I’ve am touching base with a lot of the concepts you mentioned as well, Mesh deformation, PBR & Custom materials, and practicing my animation skills. The small bit of level design you have also looks great. I’d love to see what you do if you continue with this game and if you’ll be including different species of foxes.
I actually stumbled on this post because I’ve been trying to find an efficient way to weld UGC items to mesh deformation. Aside from cage mesh I haven’t found one and I don’t know the first thing about cage meshes.
