Fragmented Robloxian head skin color

The Fragmented Robloxian head has the wrong color on one side, and this is most noticeable on mobile with a gray skin color.
You can also see the outline of the correct skin color around the mouth.

Expected behavior

The head should have the correct skin color, here’s how it looks like with default head

That is really ugly, hope they could fix this with the Fragmented Robloxian Head considering its newer than 6 months

I’ve noticed the skin color around the mouth being noticeably different compared to the rest of the head. Hopefully they fix this.

Ideally they will be able to. But, since they are understaffed, it’s hard to say.

Thanks for flagging this. Do you mind listing a step by step process of how to recreate this bug? We’re not able to on our end, and we’ve tried it on Windows and in iOS.

It doesn’t have to be recreated, it’s just that on iOS it’s best visible with a gray skin color.

It’s barely visible on a PC, but I tried to point it out.

Thanks. This is a weird one, but it may not be an asset issue.

The issue around the mouth are most likely caused by faces being pulled in an ever so slightly different direction from the faces in the next loop. The big purplish band feels like a shadow issue that we’re able to create on iOS, but not on Windows or Mac OS.

We will keep investigating.

Could this be related to how iOS handles transparent textures? Downloading the original texture and opening it in PaintDotNet, there’s some very subtle patches of shade ranging from 1-10 alpha values. Bumped up the opacity and added a Medium Stone Grey background for easier viewing.

Applying the 2nd texture to the head, you’ll notice one of the bands lines up pretty closely with the issue mentioned at the start of the thread. The left side barely gets cutoff by the corner of the lip, and the top is nearly lined up with one of the fragment corners. The band which isn’t seen in OP’s post only has an alpha value of one.

Oh, you’re right! thanks, I forgot to check the texture and point it out as the problem.

Nice. Thanks for that. I updated the texture for him, and I don’t see the purple banding issue in iOS anymore. The area around the mouth is still a little brighter when he smiles, but that’s from the faces around the mouth being slightly angled like I mentioned before.

I’m going to look into the R6 now.
