Friends API 500 internal server error from the greater sydney region

Reproduction Steps

1. Send a request to the friends.roblox.com endpoint
2. Observe body of HTTP 500 internal server error response
{“errors”:[{“code”:0,“message”:“Something went wrong with the request, see response status code.”}]}

Impact observed by being unable to send/receive friend requests in-game or on the website, or view your friends on the home page.

Expected Behavior

Friends load successfully and friends API doesn’t return an error.

Actual Behavior

Any requests to the friends.roblox.com API fails. As a result, friends on the roblox website (such as on the home page) fail to load. Additionally friend requests can’t be accepted or sent in-game or on the website.

Issue impacts mobile app version as well.

I’m affected and I’m with Telstra, however I have multiple friends with Optus who are also impacted. Connectivity details are included in a private message attached.

Issue does not occur if connecting from mobile hotspot.

Hey, just wanted to bump this post as I’m also experiencing this issue.
I’m with Telstra in the greater Sydney region.

I can’t wait to be able to send friend requests again :’)

Hello @byc14 and @Xantenius! I just attempted to reproduce this using a VPN and wasn’t able to. Can you confirm if you’re still seeing this issue? Thanks!
