Frodevs custom animator | Devlog 1 | Titles are fun :D

Hello! My names Frodev!

I have always enjoyed doing a little animating every now and then, but when it comes to roblox it can get a little annoying.

For starters robloxs default animator is unable to animate multiple rigs, which I have needed to be able to do MULTIPLE TIMES!!! (Just add the feature already for crying out loud)
I could go ahead and use blender, but the process of that has left me stumped time, and time again. So I am looking for a better solution that is right inside of roblox, that doesn’t cost $30 cause I’m broke.

Introducing Frodevs Custom Animator! (The name is in workshop dont worry)

I started working on this about a week ago and I have had lots of progress so far, so now I would like some feedback on it!
I’ve mainly just created the UI for it, but it does have some functionally (Not to the point where you can animate yet, but we are getting there)

So lets talk about some of the things we have! (As of posting this)

Features!

    1. The ability to create two types of animations: Scene animations and Rig animations
    1. Continue editing an already existing animation.
    1. In animator UI, the UI that displays the list of Animatable objects scales with the amount of animatable objects in the list. (This took so long for some reason)

This make not be a long list, but all the little things I had to do behind the scenes takes a very long time :3

Animation Types

This feature was really just created for the convenience for myself, basically there are two types of animations, Rig animations and Scene animations.
Rig animations are animation that contain a single rig, and really thats about it.
Scene animations are animations that allow you to animate multiple rigs, and other objects.

Anyhow here some examples of the UI cause really again thats all I have at the moment:

And so far thats about all I’ve created! I look forward to working on this project, as it has been a fun experience!

If you wish to test out the current state, you can try it here:

If you find any bugs or have any feedback to leave please tell me! It helps out a ton!

Anyhow if you are one of those people telling me that I am wasting my time and should just go use blender, all I say is heck no, this is going to save me so much more time in the future! Not to mention I can make any feature I want :>

Thanks!

So thank you for checking this out! if you have any questions or anything feel free to contact me! Have a good day~

this seems nice so far from looking at the media, I would think it’d be better for the ui, mainly this one:

to be more compact and more small so that I can view more without having to scroll much. Also do ytou plan to ever add a built-in feature to line up sounds luike, moon animator “lunar sound” plugin? vecause that would be very useful for reloads for guns to animate them correctly.

Hmm Ill try to work on the scale for ya! Anyhow as for the lunar sound part, I could always try!

Looks good! I feel like my only problem is that telling from the videos is that the font size would be a little to big for some people to read and the buttons should be a little more spaced apart. I like the animator though and I think it has a lot of potential. :+1:t5:
