We’re excited to announce the Multi-line Command Bar is now fully released in Studio! Thank you to everyone who provided feedback and suggestions during the beta.
In case you missed it, the new Command Bar introduces a series of features aimed at reducing friction in developer workflows:
Native multi-line editing
Command saving and loading for repeated use
Undo/redo commands (Note: Some operations like Instance:Destroy and Debris:AddItem are still permanently destructive and cannot be undone)
Integrated script editor features including linting, in-line documentation, and code completion
Beta Updates
Since releasing the beta a few months ago, we heard your feedback and added several highly requested features, including:
A setting to toggle executing commands with the “Return” key, available in Studio settings under Studio > Command Bar > Execute command with Return. When enabled, you can continue to insert new lines with Shift + Enter.
A command bar specific font setting, available in Studio settings under Studio > Command Bar > Font
Improved command history navigation. When the command bar has a single line, you can press up/down to navigate between previously executed commands. When there are multiple lines, you can use Ctrl + Up/Down.
What’s next?
The Command Bar is an essential tool for harnessing the power of Roblox Studio. We’re exploring advanced features that bring more customization and expressiveness to the Command Bar, while making it accessible to developers of all skill-levels.
We’re excited to continue hearing your suggestions for future improvements!
Finally, we don’t need that $20 fraud of a plugin called InCommand anymore!
If possible, could you add a feature to set the environment of the command bar so we can access data stored in runtime in modules?
i do not think this is for console + if your using studio its way better then it, if you want you could make your own dev console (using text box multi line edit)
