Hello! i created a Obby that took me over 2 years (i started off knowing nothing to learning a lot throughout the process of the game which is why it took that long) there are 23 stages plus a boss at the end i would love some feedback!
The game is very fun and well scripted! There are a few problems though. The obby has lots of invisible walls and kill bricks that will force the player to move in the set intended path. I suggest removing these to allow players discover and create better ways to complete the obby. The other problem is that the obstacles don’t seem realistic. Instead of touching every kill brick and dying the exact same way every single time, there should be an unique death effect for every obstacle. An example of this could be that when you touch a acid brick, you’ll burn up and disappear. These changes will make your game much different and better than the other obby games.
thank you so much for the feedback! i really love the unique death effect idea I’ll add that for sure. sadly some of the stages i may have gone over board with the invisible walls because the player may skip 2+ stages for example the “steamy pipes” stage. after that stage the player goes in a cave which has 2 stages , But! without the invisible walls there they could skip those two stages without noticing. Which stage would you recommend i remove some invisible walls?
Stages like the sinking box level could have the walls removed. It’ll allow players to complete the stage faster but would still force the player to jump around the lava instead of on the boxes. This might allow player’s to feel more free when playing the game but still be challenged.
Pretty good obby! I really enjoyed playing it. There are some really good Stage ideas that I haven’t seen in any other obby before! I also made a obby by myself (also took me about 2 years to complete) - so I know how hard it is to get those Stages/Boss fights right ;D
Other than that I also saw some minor bugs:
For example if you use shiftlock inside of the vents, then you can see through them
Another thing I saw was that in the electrified water there you can see a pattern that repeats itself - just something that if fixed would make the game look even better ;D
Also even though you get chrushed at this stage you can still walk/jump. Just setting the humanoid jumppower or walkspeed to 0 will fix it
And here the particles are still moving upwards even though the fan is turned off. Just stopping the particleemmiter a few seconds before you stop the fan would fix it.
Here it would be great if the boxes were moving in different lanes/ at different speeds, because at the moment you just have to stand still for like 20 seconds
Here I first thought that the floor was deadly water because of its texture - maybe just changing it to carpet would help
What are those red things at the ground - shadows?
Also maybe ad some boosts at the ending

(the red things are like where it spawns at like it’s showing the player in this area this vehicle will spawn don’t go near it or something like that)
i have to triple check everything at that stage that’s a bug for sure
