You’re right, in part. I did more tests, and the range of point lights seems to be around a 4x4 stud block greater when not using future, so with smaller ranged lights the difference is more drastic.
There’s a lighting bug where in studio, the lighting has a clear and sharp direction with the shadows being clearly visible however, when I join an actual server, the light is blurred, and does not seem to show direction or any shadows what so ever. Both graphic settings on Studio and Player are high and the game uses Future.
This is an update I am really looking forward to, most people may not like it but it gives developers the option to make their game realistic or not which I think is great!
It’s in Beta features. It’s not available for actual games though, just in studio. Makes your games look a thousand times more realistic while not making it lag a lot.
Will we still be able to use old lighting technology, such as shadowmap and voxel, after FiB phase 3 is released publicly(in game, not just studio beta)? Because in some cases I prefer shadowmap.
I don’t know if this has already been answered or if I have asked this before but has anyone got an estimate date for when this will go live? Since I can’t wait for visitors to see my places which I am currently modifying to work with FiB Phase 3.
