I want to make it so all the lights in my game display correctly no matter where you point your camera.
I keep having this issue where the light completely disappears if I look a certain direction, and it even happens in game! This was reported by another user when I made a post about my game Vibe Gas Station.
I tried looking on the developer forum regarding this issue, and it seems no one else has experienced it! I also got a brand new computer, but this was also happening on my old one as well. When I switched the lighting in my game to ShadowMap this issue doesn’t occur, but it occurs with Future. Am I doing something wrong? If so please tell me!
Here is the clip of the issue. Watch the spot light to the Left Side of the video.
Also if this is the wrong category, please tell me. I feel like this could also be Game Design Support but I don’t know because Building Support seems like the place to put this judging on it’s description. Instead of flagging, tell me.
I have had this issue before, but maybe try making the brightness on that slightly brighter than the other ones, and see if the problem is still there. Hopefully that helps.
Another solution is to make a neon blue part as you have, duplicate it, remove spotlight. Add a new part, make the transparency 1 and then add spotlight to the other transparent part. It should really be working after giving one of these one a shot.
Wouldn’t that be super tedious to do for every other light in my map? This isn’t the only SpotLight doing so. Every other light works efficiently, while SpotLights bug out. I would have to duplicate so many parts just to fix an issue that shouldn’t be happening. Also increasing brightness does nothing as the Camera seems to just turn it off.
If it is all, there might be a bigger issue. I only had the issue with a single part. Sorry I am not able to help you further at this point as I’ve never experienced it. Hopefully some fellow developers and forum members can see this topic shortly.
I’ve been having a similar issue. It’s not really a fix but what I’ve been doing is adding a separate uncollided, invisible brick down near the ground then using a point-light, then grouping them as models to make it easier to copy and paste them. It’s also a “band-aid fix”, but hope that helps until it’s fixed.
P.S. For some reason games that are converted from old lighting, their spotlights don’t seem to glitch. Maybe try building in an old lighting first, then convert it as Future lighting when it’s done?
I found out something strange. You mentioning converting to future lighting I think relates to this discovery.
I made a new game last night and used SpotLights and the glitch seemed to have stopped, but it still happens in my main Vibe Gas Station place. I’m pretty sure games that’s were created before FiB v3 got glitched with spotlights somehow. I’ll just keep my game on ShadowMap until they fix this issue because we shouldn’t have to go and delete and re-add every spotlight. Thanks for another suggestion btw
I’m glad I’m not the only one noticing this issue, let’s hope Roblox fixes it soon. It’s really frustrating to get building and having lights flash constantly. Good luck on your projects!
