So I use Future lighting for my horror game and the shadows appear in edit mode with no problem but when I try play to playtest my game now, the shadows seem to disappear and am not sure why that is.
(Pardon the choppy-ish clips)
Footage in edit mode:
Footage when play testing the game:
I waited for about 5 minutes hoping that the shadows finally load in as I thought they would take some time now to do so because of the large size of my game and me just spawning in. Normally, I set my graphics to 5 to make the Future Lighting shadows visible, however I’m not sure if it’s my game or the setting not working. What could it be though? In order to test the game more effectively I need it to look exactly as it does in edit mode, I’d appreciate some explanation regarding this issue as it began happening out of nowhere!!
Yeah my graphics are at 5 when playing which is when all shadows appear, aka looking like in edit mode. Even turning the graphics all the way up currently makes no difference.
Yeah I did just that before but the problem continues. I also just tested if shadows weren’t working for other games that also use Future Lighting and they seem to be working fine for them. Like I mentioned before, the size of my game is pretty large but it wasn’t doing this until a few days ago out of nowhere.
Never mind, it turns out that a some nearby things were unanchored and didn’t know, thus slightly impacting performance. Fixed this by anchoring everything.
