I have been having problems with people who harass me constantly, and I’ve blocked them still getting into my servers and harassing me. Could the block system be made into a better system where it is literally impossible for people you have blocked to get into your servers? It has become a huge problem for me, especially when I am streaming on Twitch and/or YouTube. I would really like the blocking system to be enforced even more than it already is, and if any of you know if they will be upgrading this anytime soon let me know.
If you block them from entering your game on those accounts, what’s to stop them from joining on an alt? It sucks, but no open community on the internet has a solution for blocking accounts that doesn’t involve imposing massive penalties on new users. This isn’t a problem that can be easily solved due to internet anonymity.
I feel like this could be an incredible problem for certain smaller communities. For example, groups on Roblox. Many groups use games that use 30-100 player servers, and in these small communities, a lot of times different users dislike each other. Imagine each group has a “main” place where all of its members socialize, and one member blocks another. Essentially (given the amount of time users tend to spend at these games) the one player could “ban” the player from that game for many hours out of the day.
This doesn’t have to be limited to groups, however, I’ve seen players feud even on games such as SFOTHIV, and this feature would have the same effect.
I would suggest finding another way around this issue.
Woah, cool concept! Ya I’ve been having problems with individuals blocking doors, killing me excessively, etc.
Also, this is a more random question, but were you at MakerFaire Portland, Oregon 2014? I was there visiting, and found out there was a MakerFaire with a Roblox booth gonna be there that weekend so I went. There were two Roblox admins there, and I believe you were there too. Am I correct?
I think I was at the 2014 one, I wasn’t an admin though I remember totbl was there. Sadly I missed the more recent MakerFaire.
In my game players can walk through eachother. Hiding other characters would have some interesting cases, where doors could magically open, and people could hover in-air once I add player-player mounting. Blocking someone would actually make the game run a tiny bit faster
