Future Vs. Shadow Map Help?

Hi! Okay so, I’m using ‘Future’ lighting right now for a horror theme park I am creating. I’m using decals etc… to create lighting projections and similar effects. Although, as I’m sure you’re aware of a player’s graphic settings are below a specific level it’ll be set to ‘ShadowMap’.

This is the “entrance” area with the future lighting:

Does anyone have any tips or advice/workarounds to achieve a similar lighting design/consistency from future lighting - shadow map? Is it possible to force a player to stay in a specific lighting setting or even possible to adjust the lighting in-game if a player is below a specific graphics level?

Thank you! <3

Sadly it’s not possible :frowning: if you’re on a lower graphic setting it’ll change the look of lighting to help the player run the game cleanly.

No and it’s like this for a reason, I wouldn’t try to work around it. It helps players with bad devices play your game with good FPS.

Future lighting isn’t available on mobile even on Graphics 10, so I don’t know how you’d go about forcing them to have Future.

To incentivize players to turn their graphics up however, you should make sure your game is lagless as possible. Try and reduce as much tris as you can when creating meshes.
