Hey everyone. I apologize if this topic has come up hundreds of times (I’m sure it has) but I need some help with it, and I think my scenario might be different.
So for one of the games I work for, I helped make a map and script it, but one of the people my boss hired took the bare place (This was before most of the scripting was done) and attempted to sell it in multiple Roblox discord servers, some sounding similar to SoNevs and SiddenKavelopers. I requested the ad posts for the map taken down, which they were, and the person who stole them came to an understanding with me, and he agreed to delete the place and he did (I’m positive his copy was deleted, key word his copy).
Anyways, now some other dudes were found trying to sell our map in other servers, and when we dm’d them asking why and that they should take them down, they claimed they were the owners, and refused to take it down. We have overwhelming proof that we own it. We tried DMCA requests against them, but I guess we cannot file another request because it is too soon since we filed the original against the first guy?
tldr; I need some help with how to prevent and deal with issues if the map is sold and used elsewhere. Obviously we cannot police them all, but is there any way that we can find out if the place is being sold, and find out who is selling it? The sellers cannot post in any more of the discords that I requested take down the posts (they are banned) but are there any other ways they can reach out and sell it? Is our best course of action just to DMCA everyone, and report to Roblox? Thanks.
