Game Atmosphere

This will probably never become a full game, but does anyone have feedback on the atmosphere of this submarine? I am going for a deep sea exploration vessel type submarine. Sound is important. Most models in this place are incomplete. Simpler question: Do you feel like you are underwater?

Doesn’t look like something specific or special at first, very average.

I’d say the overall experience (2 min long on the lone server) was decent,
As there is barely anything to do, the confusion over the controls unexplained made it better in my opinion, some Looped SFX was stacking up while i’ve been randomly switching buttons, and the numbers as a result of my behavior was pretty distracting image,

I Believe it lacks visuals regardless, even without informations, the user should know better the purpose of most buttons, perhaps atleast in forms of “category” as i’ve barely knew the difference between the green/red light and the lever toggles

it may be explained in a roundabout way, but this is based off a pure first-impression without second thoughts

Yeah the models are all temporary, i am really just asking if you really feel underwater

Shortly put, yes. The sonar and the moving water stream are what really sells it.
However I would consider making all the particles move in the same direction, to sell the movement better, and to add some sort of overhead window, to sell the idea that you are UNDER the water, and not just riding on it.
Whilst the feedback on the controls does help with this, the feeling should be instinctual before you read anything.

  • Yes I do, to answer that question. It is very claustrophobic like a real underwater submarine would be. I would try making it a little bigger, it is very small quarters.
