I know this “Invisible character” issue has been reported a few times already, but I’m getting desperate to get this issue fixed. It is game-breaking and impossible for me to replicate in studio.
Here’s a video I recorded of me in-game on Murder while experiencing this issue.
I was having trouble getting the guy in the game to cooperate, but this video shows some pretty good footage of how severe this issue is. From the perspective of the guy, he can move around fine and use his tool. But from the perspective of everyone else, hes frozen in his spawn location and his joints are unable to move.
At 0:15 you can see random footprints spawning, but that’s actually the guy walking around from his perspective. When I jump on his frozen body, he sees me floating in the air.
He eventually spawn kills a guy, and that ragdoll freezes in place too (On the technical side of things, Murder’s ragdolls are actually alive with infinite health and disabled controls, so the character is set to the ragdoll when they spawn ). The ragdoll is currently positioned using MoveTo, but the frozen issue still occurred.
Eventually I somehow manage to kill the frozen guy (probably because he was standing there) and his ragdoll froze as well.
tl;dr, this is a game-breaking problem and I need to know whether this is a roblox bug or not/ if there’s a reasonable work-around to the issue. This bug happens regardless if I have FIlteringEnabled on or not.
I just identified something else.
I enabled some network debug prints and I set the incoming replication lag to 100, and when I use the axis tool on the player, the output is briefly flooded with:
I saw the glitch on those games. Just go to paintball and play for about 5-10 mins. You’re going to see it eventually.
EDIT: I just went on the Paintball! and saw the glitch about 1-3 mins of playing it.
So I think I know how the problem is occurring: In each of these games, everyone moves the player from spawn to the certain position/cframe. Maybe you guys can look around in this area and see if you can find out the issue.
I was unable to see this issue when I played these games.
However the code that was potentially causing this has been turned off. It should take effect on any fresh new servers that start up for each game. Fresh servers of the game should start up in the proper state that doesn’t have this issue anymore, but it may be hard to see until a bit later since older servers will still have the effect.
Give it an hour or two and let me know if you are still seeing these effects.
