Hello! I currently have a game out in a phase we refer to as a soft release, during which we have essentially been performing public testing. Unfortunately, we have learned that our game, Derby Wars, does not appear on the search page. Ironically enough, a test place of mine from two years ago is the fourth entry on display, as seen below.
We are approaching our full release and wish to square away this issue before we invest large sums of money into advertising. If this issue is due to a shortcoming on our end, we would appreciate any potential solutions. Although, I am confident that this is a website bug.
I have to admit, this also happens to me once in a while. This is probably because your place is new, or because it doesn’t have many visits. Once you get a few thousand visits after your advertisement, the game will pop up on search and this issue will be resolved. Hope this helps!
I thought the same before, but our game has been public for a few months now & we’re nearing 500k visits. My old test place that pops up under the search page actually only has around 70 visits.
Alright. I see the problem. Let me explain. The reason the game doesn’t pop up on the search is most likely because The game title includes characters like [, /, and emojis. Adding on, the game title is extremely long, hence the game probably being pushed down to the bottom of the search page. Try removing ‘release’ or ‘thanksgiving’. The longer the game name is, the more likely the game doesn’t pop up on the top of the page.
