Game feedback needed

I need feedback on my new game I have been working on for about a week.
I need actual opinions so don’t be afraid, be as harsh as you can because I want to improve it to the best it can be.

Joined the game, and it looks like a really old Roblox game with music playing, seems like it really came back from an older era. Interesting concept!

Here’s a list of suggestions/bugs that I have noted from your game:

  • The sign on the thumbnail looks out of place, with the background colour white. Maybe you want to change the colour to something that blends with the environment more. Icon looks really nice, though.

  • Text from the dialog are shifted down a bit too much. Try shifting them up slightly.

  • The dialog clips through the ceiling for one of the NPCs in the mines, not a very big thing here. If you’re using the Dialog system for the “old Roblox feel”, I can get that.

  • You probably should decrease the player’s jumppower for the realism, and if you don’t want players to access areas that they shouldn’t.

  • (Don’t have a video to demonstrate this) If you make the elevator go up to the top (the one nearest to the entrance of the mines), it wobbles for a bit before stopping after a while.

  • Attempting to climb on the walls when the elevator is moving (which are like ladders to the Player), and shiftlocking when climbing the ladder would cause the Player to clip on top of the lift.

  • Text fonts for both signs near the elevator aren’t the same.

  • The trash can, which is in the area where you’re able to talk to 1 of the other miners, seems extremely out of place, considering it’s in a place where majority of the things are built using studs.

  • The NPC miner which you can talk to can be shifted around by the Player.

  • Unanchored part near the Mine’s office.

I’m not able to explore everything, but it seems like a pretty deep and classic kind of (horror?) game. If I have the time, would definitely try and explore more!

how do I move dialogue boxes down?

What if we enhance the player animations and modify the interaction with non-player characters (NPCs) in terms of gameplay style? For instance, instead of clicking on a question mark bubble, we could implement a system where players interact by pressing the “E” key on the keyboard.

There’s no possible way to do so. You can either:

  • Make the ceilings of all characters who use a Dialog higher, so Players are able to interact with them easily.
  • Revamp the whole dialog system with a GUI and a ProximityPrompt.
