I would love some honest feedback on my game! I also plan on advertising so tell me if it is good! Thank you all!
Can someone please try out the game?
Hey there! so I just stumbled upon this forum post and decided to try out your game for a bit, I only played to round 7 and I’ll get to that later but I will start with my critiques.
Pros
-
Game slowly progresses in difficulty.
-
Enemy Types and their abilities.
-
The Game’s Simple to understand concept and story.
Cons
-
UI Could use some polishing.
-
Text typewriting effect should be a little faster.
-
No Breaks in between rounds.
-
No Shop or different weapons.
-
So far the game can get boring very quickly. (Reason I quit at round 7)
Recommendations
Adding different weapons to the game would help with variety and make the game a little less boring, if you plan on adding guns I recommend FE Gun Kit! Also, giving the player money upon killing enemies would help. More enemies earlier in the early game would also increase difficulty but also help with the game getting boring. AI also needs their pathfinding to be tweaked as they got stuck on the walls constantly. Maybe a lobby system would also help out your game look and feel more polished but it isn’t necessary. Adding music to the game would help it shape the experience and set the mood for the game, it would be nice if the music were to dynamically change depending on the current situation in game. like during the boss fights you’d have more intense music, while in between rounds you’d have something more relaxed but still fitting the overall theme.
Conclusion
You have a good game loop so far, but I believe with all of the cons I’ve listed you could wait a bit to build up the game more before advertising.
(P.S)
Posting dev logs on any social media platform would also help bring attention to your game and help bring players once you finally release the game!
Thank you for your feedback! Will incorporate into the game as soon as possible. Marketing has been pretty hard, as I don’t have a big social media following. Do you have any tips?
Maybe short tiktoks or maybe some posts on youtube shorts of you working on the game? I see these videos get a lot of attention.
