Game Ideas that can be done quickly?

Hey, I have had lots of game ideas and I need an idea which I can do quick.I want to make something that can be in pre alpha in 1 month by myself, a 3D modeler, GFX artist, Sound Artist, and programmer with 3 years of python experience but no lua experience. I have had lots of ideas but they all needed many people and I couldn’t make it quickly and I lost motivation. I would appreciate it if somebody could spark an idea which could evolve over time to be a polished game.

1.Obbies are really simple to make and won’t take long.

2.Capture the Flag is a simple game that people like.

  1. A simple war game.(all you gotta do is make weapons).

  2. Some simulators take long, Others don’t take a while if you make a very basic one.

I don’t want to make just another obby. I want to make something unique, something that hasn’t been done before. I find that obbies are becoming repetitive and are giving roblox a bad rep as a place for low effort games to go. War game will end up being generic with free models. Capture the flag sounds like a good idea but I’m not sure what theme to put on it. Having a normal capture the flag will be boring. Do you have any ideas for a theme?

A theme for capture the flag that (I) would like is Retro or Neon. I think they both bring out excitement and the map is basically your rep for the game.

I like the idea and thank you for the suggestion . Would you like to collab?

Sorry, I am working on a project myself.

Okay. I will share the project when I am done.

You should kinda follow my idea. I am making a simulator game. I have been learning lua for 2 weeks. I have learned, scripts, local scripts, modules, variables, conditions, bool values, loops, for,v in pairs, tables, functions. You can do the same as me. After that make the game. Your game should atleast make 100k robux. After that go for a big project like Adopt Me and you can be in the front page. At the end you need robux for alost everything.

100k robux? It seems impossible that players would spend that much on a simulator.

A 13 year old (owner of Tapping Mania) has made over 40 million robux. Thats about more than 10k dollars. Anything is possible. Tapping Mania isn’t original either.

Wow. Never thought a thirteen year old would make that much money lol. The thing is, I want an original idea, but I guess simulators have a good formula so i guess I will do that.

Wait, I just had an amazing idea. I could make an entire retro world kinda like rouge lineage.

Make sure not to underestimate the difficulty and effort of creating a game, it’s quite easy to do so.

Before starting, make sure you’ve got the basics of Lua down. With your python knowledge, this should only take a month. After that, consider looking into a framework and a few open source modules you can use, this will help improve development speed by a ton.

Above were just tips to get things done faster, my opinion on a rouge lineage game is that it’d take longer than expected. Consider one of those repetitive but sustainable games. Examples include: Among Us, Murder Mystery 2, Silent Assassin, Epic mini games. As you may have noticed, the games Ive mentioned are games that have quite literally no end to them, they can be played for much longer than any form of grinding game.

Do you have any recommendations for courses on Luau?

What you really should be looking at is Lua, Luau is still a work in progress and isn’t complete yet. Luau introduces type declarations with variables and as of right now, are only used to catch type errors.

In terms of resources for Lua, I don’t have any as of right now. You can use the DevForum to search or google to find some guides on Lua to get started.

Maybe you could make it a one - way capture the flag, and make the theme cops and robbers?
