Game is not "uploading" to Roblox, even when I save and publish the game on studio

So I am trying to test out my new “quiz” game on Roblox. However, when I try to play, it only gives me a baseplate with none of the programmed GUI popping up. The output prints no errors related to publishing/saving, so I don’t know why this is doing this. Only sometimes the GUI pops up, but most of the time it’s just an unprogrammed/unbuilt Roblox game.

Thanks!

Firstly, rule out mis-publishing.

Step 1

Go into Roblox Studio → Game you want to test → Once loaded do: Alt + Shift + P, select the game you’re wanting to publish to, then follow the 1 and 2 steps shown here.

Step 2

Once you’ve selected the place (startplace or sub-place) for your case, it should be a start place based on the information you provided – click overwrite; then you should get this screen:

Step 2 - Result:

Should say your game name and have your icon, I hid mine due to me using a secret project as an example.

IF it fails to say ‘Successfully published!’ and has RED TEXT saying: FAILED, start a report @ Roblox Support under; “Technical Support → Specific Experience Issue”

Step 3

Allow 1 ~ 3 minutes for the update to publish, make sure you join an empty brand new server, then you should see your game 1:1 of what you see in Roblox Studio.

Contingency

IF you do not see your published game even after seeing a ‘Successfully published!’ screen, contact Roblox Support under; “Technical Support → Specific Experience Issue” and carefully explain your process (you can even link to this forum post/reply) and wait for a response.

Please remember:
If either following the steps or doing the suggested technical support request fixes your issue, please mark this reply as a solution for future users who may look at this forum post for answers.

Ok so it works, but I feel that it is a lengthy process (and that I have to wait a minute before I can do any actual testing with the GUI).

It’s not as bad as when I had to test out apps for an internship (basically it was a bunch of rezipping), but still really lengthy.

Is there a faster way? If not, then thank you for your help!

Well I don’t know how much you know about studio but you can natively run client within studio by pressing the play button, you can even switch in-between the client and server in studio, since the topic has been solved please do not mark this as a ‘solve’ since this is just addressing a question.

Here’s a screenshot of the play button / switching and testing stuff.

Studio has been designed so using the play feature should give you about 90% of what client would offer without having to upload/publish and test via playing the game in full client.

Hopefully this helps!

Well, I know about this feature in Studio. The problem is that it is not very friendly with the GUI elements, so testing there isn’t an option.

Also it seems to instantly save and publish with Alt + Shift + P, so that’s cool.
