Game monetization

Hi guys,I’m new to developing so I’m wondering how difficult it is to hit the minimum number of robux (100K) to turn them into real currency. This may depend by a lot of things, but normally how difficult and how time does it generally get to hit this number of robux(with a decent game)?

It depends on a few things. First, and most importantly, you need to make people want to buy your developer products and gamepasses. This is not going to be achieved by setting the prices of these products extremely high. You also want players to want to buy these, usually this is done by some form of advertisement in your game. You should fully outline what perks buying these products will give. You should also give a good amount of perks for each product so that the player wants to buy it.

To answer your question, it really depends. For some games, they earned loads from their game right away. For others, it took them some time. For some, it has not happened yet. If your game does well, and gets a good amount of players playing every day, you are likely to get more sales on your products.

Your game must be enjoyable enough for players to want to return over and over again, but also must be enjoyable enough so that players actually want to spend their Robux in your game. If your game is doing well, getting high amounts of players each day and positive ratings, you will probably earn a fair amount of Robux.

It comes down to making the player aware that you can buy stuff in the game, and making them want to buy it. This does not mean to turn your game into a “Pay-to-Win” type thing, where you will only succeed if you buy the products, as that will make most players not want to return. It should be balanced, so that developer products will help players in game or offer extra perks, but players who have not bought any products should be able to do the majority of the things that everyone else can in the game. For example, think of a popular game, such as Jailbreak. You can buy the Mobile Garage gamepass, but that doesn’t mean you can’t customise your car if you don’t own the pass. Although it will make it more convenient for players, people who do not own the gamepass are still able to do this, it is just more inconvenient to do it. This is how you don’t create a “Pay-to-Win” environment, which is not enjoyable for players.

My advice; never give up. Not all of your games are going to make Robux, not all are going to do well. With some practice and effort, it can happen. Good luck with your game development.

Can’t really say an estimate on that since there is so many aspects that you got to look into such as the amount you have in the first place to advertise, if you have any developer products/ game passes that are worth it to the player without it seeming too much of a “pay to win”, how engaging the game itself is, and so many other things. Some games won’t take too long to get to the minimal requirement to devex while some other games will take some time to get that amount.
Don’t let that discourage you though. Like what LegendOJ1 said; Never give up!

everything Legend said but

many games usually pay sponsorships and ads, when they have a good amount of visits and plays, it is a good start if the game has a good structure
