Let me explain this to you from a few years ago to now.
A few years ago, I first created my own game pass for the game
“pls donate”, but I didn’t realize that the game pass, which was “1” Robux, actually gave me “0” Robux. After a while, this problem was fixed and people were no longer able to create “1” Robux game passes, but the problem is that the game passes not removed and people don’t know!!!
This means they were not removed from Roblox and people’s Robux were not given.
Expected behavior
For like 40 people at that time bought my game pass but I didn’t receive anything and I expect Roblox to pay everyone who lost their Robux
Roblox has always mentioned the purchase tax when you fill in the price, and it makes sense that they won’t just round it up to 1 and give you 100% out of mercy.
For like 40 people
That’s like what, 0.50 USD? Still though I would argue Roblox has to refund those players, as they’ve done it before with clothing that got removed. Money (even virtual) shouldn’t just disappear.
Unfortunately, I don’t think you can recover those Robux. The minimum of Robux you can get is 1, but for that you have to create a gamepass with a price of +2 Robux otherwise, Roblox will keep that 1 Robux, due to the taxes. Although it’s true that they should give that Robux to the creator, that’s not very profitable and can be used with bad intentions. That’s why you probably cannot do anything, but for the next time you know that you must create a gamepass of +2 Robux to get revenue.
Afaik this is intended behaviour; the Roblox tax for game-passes is 30% of the sale (unsure how the rounding works for that), but it is also always at-least 1 Robux. So a 1 Robux sale will never profit, unfortunately. Ideally, Roblox should re-add the estimator which would specify how much Robux you would get from each sale (assuming that it wasn’t a third-party sale) in order to clear up the confusion regarding this.
Roblox seems to still allow me to make gamepasses that cost a singular Robux? Is there a particular method of editing that disallows this?
I feel like the only instance where you should be refunded is that stupid test mode thing for putting dev products in a game’s store page that requires you to spend robux for no logical reason
I have gamepasses worth 6 Robux. I didn’t make them 5 Robux since I thought the payout of 70% of 5 being 3.5 would get rounded down to 3 all the time.
This means using math.floor rounding values I should get 70% of 6 which is 4.2. I figured I’d could live with it rounded down to 4.
If I look at my analytics page I get (for a rough example) 5 one day, then 17.5, then 0, then 8, then 15, then 20, then 8.33, etc.
If my gamepass was giving the same percentage per transaction I’d expect these values to be multiples of 4, or 4.2. Seems like they are rounding up most of the time, then adjusting every few payments to give a corrected value.
What are you all getting for your analytics for your games? Are they even numbers, or random numbers?
