So I have this obby, “Escape the monster prison obby.”
That up until a few days ago was doing great! It was at 80-120 players everyday without a single ad, during the Christmas season it was averaging over 200s of players…
Recently we reached a milestone of 5k likes in which I changed the description from 5000 to 6000 only that part I changed and right after I changed it, I have no idea what happened but my game instantly died to like 8-10 players max…
My game is a well themed obby and not just an obby that is a bunch of colored bricks put together (Not saying this is bad)
I’m just trying to justify my game being good, has anyone had these issues before??
This is the game.
And further more, what if I wanted to spend 20k on ads for it, should I do it 5k for 4 days or 20k one day.
It has around 2.5mil visits.
Should I report this to Roblox?
I have tried reverting the description to exactly what it was, looked for malicious scripts, reverted versions and still nothing. The game seems to have just died instantly.
I dont think you can do much about it. Games blow up and they die, that’s how roblox works.
Its a nightmare for me, my game has about 150-200 players on avg. and every morning I check my concurrent players xD Because it can just die overnight.
That has nothing to do with that. Other games still have their normal players. And a game wont drop from 80 to 8 players just because some people are busy.
Search results kicked you off. I’ll have my games get a good amount of players for while and then just magically stop. I go to search for them under keywords and they no longer appear in the top results.
This is exactly what happened and it happened when I changed my description. I honestly feel like contacting Roblox about it to be very honest, it shouldn’t be like that…
Changing my description shouldn’t completely remove my position in search results etcera, I tried searching for my game and could barely ever find it.
@ByGoalZ
I know the feeling man, everyday i’d have place statistics open on my browser, without any issues up until the point where I changed my description and now I regret it.
I can understand that replayability could be an issue but when you look at similar obbies like the ones by PlatinumFalls with less levels there are all thousands playing, thousands…
My game falls under pretty much the same category since he is my inspiration.
It was doing great but I truly believe it wasn’t coincidental, I do believe changing it kicked me off the search results as @wravager said.
Yeah that’s what I am thinking of doing, i’m not sure if its worth it though.
20k spread out, 5k a day for 4 days? I don’t think it would do anything significantly but I don’t know…
If it is because of the search results, advertising won’t do too much to help your cause. It will increase the playercount for a bit, however your player count will end up going back down as soon as the ads are done, since more players are probably coming to your game from finding it then just player retention.
Your best option is just to wait for Roblox search filters to refresh again and hope that you get on the sorts. Back when I was developing squid game, some days we’d be on the filter, next we’d be gone on all filters. I doubt roblox support will help either because they are roblox support.
Would recommend just putting any like goals in game, on some fancy board. In the description tell players to see the goals in game or something.
I genuinely think it did. Is there a specific contact for devrelations?
I did some more research and saw that exact quote “shadow banned.”
Which I genuinely think happened.
